I received a quick response to my email inquiry about this, but actually implementing it was not 100% like the video and written guidance- but I did figure it out. In short, almost any image should be able to be digitally matted for an off the shelf frame. As an example, the 2:3 aspect ratio folder has a mat with an 8x10 outside dimension, with several more choices for the part where the picture goes. Each of those choices has a subset of choices for the image. For each aspect ratio there are several pre-built sizes of outer mat dimensions. There are a lot of pre-built templates in what might be any commonly available aspect ratio. There is a brief instruction manual to get you started in loading the material. I had a request for a little more info on Quick Mats 4. I have used it for several years and all of the parts can be resized to whatever dimensions you need. This page has a free action that you can download, Sharon's Mats. I don't understand enough about Photoshop to make a template that can be modified- if that is even possible. Where these seem to fall apart is the details in the mat bevel and shading. I have seen some of the methods using a larger canvas size. Just mess around a bit as there are quite a number of simple tools to help you out. Past that I've used Posterino, Photo Collage Pro, and Choco - all OS X. Make sure smaller (image) is in front of canvas - above in layers. One can of course make a mat with Ps by making Image-> Canvas Size larger than Imagine->Image Size. Actions? ![]() There is a fairly complicated workaround that is detailed with the included video tutorials, for the 2 mat configuration. However, the default spacing between the three mats seems to be not alterable. I was able to create the initial mat with QM4 relatively easily, and due to the size, I have to use the triple mat templates. I have been working on a "matted" print with asymmetrical sides. Topaz Studio 2 has an option to add mats, but there is very little control, and the solid color ones are obviously "fake" looking. I have looked at some other offerings, and much of what I have seen looks much more "fake". I purchased QuickMats4 (QM4) and the results are very good.
